Andhra Pradesh Budget 2024: Buggana introduces budget with Rs 2.86 Lakh Cr


Andhra Pradesh State Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy introduced the 2024-25 Otton Account Budget in the Andhra Pradesh State Assembly on Wednesday. The minister introduced the budget with Rs. 2,86,389 crores. The revenue expenditure is Rs. 2,30,110 crores announced by the government. Investment cost Rs. 30, 530 crores said by the state government.

Capital expenditure of the state government was Rs.30,558.18 crores, revenue deficit was Rs.24,758.22 crores, fiscal deficit was Rs.55,817.50 crores, GSDP fiscal deficit was recorded as 3.51 percent. State Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy announced that the revenue deficit is 1.56 percent.

He said that he got the opportunity to introduce the budget for five years. He said that his government is implementing welfare schemes in a transparent manner. He recalled that after his government came to power, 55 revenue divisions were increased to 78. Buggana Rajendranath Reddy mentioned that 2.6 lakh volunteers were appointed. The minister reminded that 13 districts have been increased to 26 districts. The minister said that the budget has been prepared based on seven points. 

He said that Disha police stations have been set up in every district.

Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy introduced the vote on account budget, recalling Mahatma Gandhi’s words that the best way to know yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.

Welfare has been provided to everyone who deserves it regardless of politics. He said that in the spirit of the late YS Rajasekhar Reddy, priority is being given to the weakest sections of the society.
