Indian-American leader Vivek Ramaswamy has given a fresh explanation after his comments on H-1B visas led to controversy. He said that he only said that he would bring reforms in the H-1B visa system. To this extent, he posted a post on the social media site ‘X’.

“One news agency thought that I had been sidetracked on the H-1B visa issue. It has been mentioned that people with this visa have been hired in my companies as if I will cancel the H-1B visa. For that matter, there are many flaws in the US energy sector as well. So I didn’t stop using water and electricity, did I? In fact I am fully aware of the reforms that need to be undertaken. Lottery system is meaningless in foreign visa system. The H-1B visa is a full-time job. It came into force due to corporate lobbying,” he said in his post. He also shared a video in which he was interviewed by a local channel on H-1B visa.

Vivek Ramaswamy tweeted: @Politico tried to play “gotcha” by saying I want to gut the H1-B system even though my companies have used it to hire foreign graduates from top U.S: universities. Well, U.S. energy sector regulations are badly broken, but I still use water & electricity. Turns out I actually understand the things I want to reform: the foreign visa “lottery” is senseless & the H1-B regime is a form of indentured servitude that’s a product of corporate lobbying. I’ll finally fix it.”
