South movies are an integral part of the Sankranti celebrations. This year, film makers packed more fun at the box office than the usual for movie lovers. As many as five new movies are scheduled to release on the occasion of Sankranthi. These are Vijay’s Varasudu, Santosh Sobhan Kalyanam Kamaneeyam, Ajith starrer Thunivu, Chiranjeevi starrer Waltair Veerayya and Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer Veera Simha Reddy. Both the movies have Shruti Haasan as the leading lady. As the new releases are big star movies, the demand for the theatres has increased. Fans had already started lobbying with the management of theatres to push their actor’s movie as priority.
The filmmakers said that the state government had earlier permitted big-budget RRR, Acharya and Sarkaru Vaari Paata to increase the ticket prices by Rs 75, Rs 50 and Rs 45 respectively. Finally AP government responds to the request for ticket price hike.
Now according to the latest report, Andhra Pradesh government has permitted ticket price hikes for Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya. The AP government passed a new order, permitting a hike of Rs 45+ GST for Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna starrer movies.
Veera Simha Reddy is scheduled for release on 12th January and Waltair Veerayya on January 13, the eve of Sankranti festival.
