Officials said that liquor income has increased in Andhra Pradesh and sales have decreased drastically. CM Jagan Mohan Reddy conducted a review on revenue generating departments on Monday. Seem Jagan inquired about the revenue collections of various departments in the first three months of the financial year 2023-24.

However, the officials told the Chief Minister that compared to 2018-19, the sale of liquor has decreased, but the income has increased. He said that in 2018-19, the sale of liquor was 384.36 lakh cases and in 2022-23 it was 335.98 lakh cases. In 2018-19, beer sales were 277.16 lakh cases, while in 2022-23, 116.76 lakh cases were sold. Liquor sales have decreased by 5.28 percent, officials said.

Officials told CM Jagan that the target of GST tax collection has reached 91 percent till June in the financial year 2023-24. He said that 7,653.15 cr GST taxes have been collected. GST collections have increased by 23.74 percent compared to last year.

CM Jagan made key comments regarding liquor sales. He directed to pay special attention to manufacturing families across the country. He said that there is a huge difference in the income coming from the Mines and Minerals Department and APMDC in the YCP government compared to the previous government. He said that huge income comes from these departments.
