Noted music director AR Rahman‘s daughter Khatija Rahman is a talented lady. It is known her music video – ‘Farishton’ won the award for the Best Animation Music Video at the International Sound Future Awards. The music video also received a special mention award at the Los Angeles Film Awards. ‘Farishton’ is significant as Khatija Rahman considers it to be the beginning of her musical journey. Now according to the latest report, Khatija Rahman got engaged to Fayaz on 23rd December in Chennai.
Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases, the engagement ceremony was restricted and it was attended by only their family members and close friends.
The sources say that the wedding date of Khatija Rahman and Fayaz has been finalized and it will also a family affair.
Khatija made her singing debut in films with her father’s composition “O Maramanishi/Puthiya Manidha” in Shankar’ magnum opus Robo alongside the legendary SP. Balasubramanyam and his AR Rahman. The movie starred Rajnikanth. Khatija Rahman was just 14 years old when she sang the song.
AR Rahman tied the knot with Saira Banu and the couple has two daughters, namely Khatija, Rahima and a son Ameen Rahman.
Earlier Khatija, was attacked online by writer Taslima Nasrin for her dressing choices.
