On the occasion of the 103rd birthday anniversary of legendary Tamil film star and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MGR, the makers of Thalaivi unveiled the first look of Aravind Swami. Aravind Swami is seen in MGR’ getup. He looks every bit like MGR in the first look poster. Aravind Swani took to his Twitter to unveil the first look poster from Thalaivi and said, “Here is my first look as Puratchi Thaliavar, Makkal Thilagam MGR in Thalaivi.” Thalaivi, the upcoming feature based on the life and times of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, fondly called Amma, which is progressing at the brisk pace in the direction of AL Vijay and the movie is expected to hit the screens on 26th June.
Coming on the first look poster, Arvind Swani sports a clean shaven look and resembles MGR in clothes and appearance. His hair is also similar to MGR’ in the period between 1965-1970s.
Recently in an interview, Vijay has said, “J Jayalalithaa had mentioned in an interview that the two most important people in her life were her mother and MGR.”
Thalaivi is a biopic on legendary yesteryear heroine and former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa in which Kangana Ranuat is playing the titular role. The film is being produced by Vishnu Induri in association with Bollywood producer Shaailesh R Singh. Prakash Raj is essaying the role of Karunanidhi. The multilingual film is releasing Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages.
