The sport based Telugu movie Jersey was one of the decent hit movie in which Natural Star Nani shared the screen pace with Shraddha Srinath. We have already reported that Jersey is being made in Bollywood and the makers have brought Kabir Singh fame actor Shahid Kapoor on the board to play the lead role. Now the makers have locked the female lead. According to the latest update, Mrunal Thakur has been roped in Jersey remake where she will play the love interest of Shahid Kappor.
Mrunal Thakur is the latest addition of Jersey remake. The actress Mrunal Thakur, who impressed the audience with her performances in movies like Super 30 and Batla House, will now be seen as female lead in Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey.
Hindi version of Jersey starring Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakurwill be directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also helmed the original movie. Mrunal Thakur who is very excited about sharing the screen space with Shahid Kapoor in Jersey remake, said, “When I saw the original film I was bowled over by its passionate emotional journey.”
Mrunal Thakur’ character in the film will be the anchor to Shahid’s, who goes on an emotional journey against all odds to play cricket for the country in his mid 30’s, when it’s time for most of the people to retire from competitive sports.
The upcoming drama will be produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill, Dil Raju, and it will hit the theaters on 28th August, 2020.
Murnal Thakur is also the part if Baahubali: Before the Beginning, a Netflix spin-off of the Baahubali franchise. On the otherside, currently she is busy in her upcoming Hindi movie Toofan, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and is jointly produced by Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, Mehra, PS Bharathi and Rajiv Tandon. It is also a sport based film.
