Police busted the begging mafia in Hyderabad two days ago. Ajit Pawar from Karnataka has been arrested by the Hyderabad Police in this case. Police investigation found that Pawar used to pay Rs 200 a day to the elderly and children and sent them to beg. He had 23 beggars including eight children.  Pawar used to make these beggars beg in Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, KBR Park and other busy places in the city. Although the beggars earned between Rs 4,500 and 6,000 per day, Pawar used to give them only Rs 200. The police busted the begging mafia after investigating complaints that beggars were causing trouble to people. Ajit Pawar (28) from Gulbarga, Karnataka was arrested by the Jubilee Hills police. Eight vehicles were seized from him.

The police got shocking news in the case of begging mafia. It is known that some people who beg at various traffic junctions in Hyderabad have a monthly income of Rs1.5 lakh to Rs 2 lakh. This came to light when the police spoke to the victims of the begging mafia case.

Some families beg motorists at traffic junctions under Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda Commissionerates. The whole family including wife, husband, their children and elderly people are in the same profession. The whole family is targeting a traffic junction and begging. No other beggars are allowed there. This family earns Rs 4,500 to Rs. A task force official said that they were earning up to 6,000.
