The demise of Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput has thrown light on depression and mental health among actors and technicians working in film industry. Ex- Bigg Boss contestant and actress Nandini Rai said there are many causes of depression. Reacting to some of the recent deaths of celebrities by various means, Nandini Rai said depression is one of the main reasons for people commit suicide. She said that the actors face ups and downs in their career in the entertainment industry when their films turn to hit or flops.

The former Miss Andhra Pradesh title winner and Bigg Boss 2 Telugu contestant Nandini Rai opened up about her battle with depression before coming to the Bigg Boss event.  She said it is better to talk and share their opinions with families and friends rather than spending alone.  Nandini Rai added that though she had a good start in films in the year 2011, she was deeply disappointed when the movie  Mosagallaku Mosagadu  with Sudheer Babu, in 2015, didn’t do well at the box office.

Nandini Rai further said, “Few movies in which I  was offered lead roles went back and I went into depression. I got suicidal thoughts. I wanted to jump from my terrace or cut my wrists. I spent several sleepless nights thinking about my life. But I decided to fight.”
