During the lock down phase OTT platforms have offered huge prices for Tollywood film makers who are awaiting their theatrical releases. However Tollywood film makers couldn’t dare to take such a bold step. They have said no whatever might the price be. However Bollywood has turned out to be more bold when compared to other industries. There are handful of Hindi movies that are getting ready for release through direct digital platforms. They will not have a digital release.

Ayyushman Khurrana, Amitabh Bachchan‘s Gulabo Sitabo is gearing up for direct OTT release on June 12th in Prime. Nawazuddin Siddique’s Ghoomketu is going to release on Zee5 on May 22nd. Akshay Kumar’s Laxxmi Bomb has already declared to have direct digital release. It will be available on Hotstar, however the date is not announced yet. Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani have teamed up for Shershaah. Now this movie is also looking forward to direct OTT release. Vidya Balan’s Shakuntala Devi is also having similar digital release.

However film makers are going to lose some amount with not having theatrical release but they have no choice now as theaters will take more time than anticipated. Maharashtra which is main part for Bollywood is suffering a lot with covid pandemic.
