Union Information and Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told that in the year 2024 Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited will start BSNL 5G service in India.
The country’s largest public sector company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited -BSNL will start the 5G service in the year 2024. Ashwini Vaishnav has given this information yesterday. Ashwini Vaishnav said that BSNL has shortlisted a consortium led by TCS and C-DOT to roll out the 4G network, which is expected to transition to the 5G in about a year from the date of placing order under the contract.
Ashwini Vaishnav said to the reporters, “BSNL will start 5G services in 2024. Entire Odisha will be covered with the 5G services in two years. 5G services have started in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. There was a big advantage for the BSNL as entire network we are designing is in such a way that it can be rapidly upgraded from 4G to 5G. That cycle will be very fast.
Ashwini Vaishnav further said that the Modi government has allocated Rs 5,600 cr to strengthen telecom connectivity in the state. 100 towers have been launched for the 4G services covering 100 villages in Odisha. He added that 5G technology will prove to be a game changer in the education sector.
During this, 5000 mobile towers with the world class communication facilities will be installed in the state.
