It is well known that Jr NTR fans reacted wildly over actress Meera Chopra when she said that she is not a fan of Jr NTR and didn’t know him but a fan of Mahesh Babu. They started abusing her and threatened gang rape and acid attacks. Meera Chopra deeply hurt with the comments asked directly Jr NTR by tagging him that is the feeling successful with such fan base. She hoped NTR didn’t ignore her tweet.
Meera Chopra complained about this issue with screenshots to National Commission for Women (NCW) and Hyderabad Police. Commission chairperson Rekha Sharma directed Hyderabad Police to take action on this case. Assistant Commissioner of Police KVN Prasad said that case has been booked against Jr NTR fans under different sections. Indian Penal Code’s sections 506 (criminal intimidation), and 509 (insulting the modesty of a woman) and section 67 of the Information Technology Act have been registered against the accused and the process of identifying the accused is underway.
Meera Chopra thanked NCW for helping her filing an FIR. She tweeted that though mostly the safety of women is compromised, women get support and strength from people like Sharma.
