Recently Tamil actor Vishal revealed that he paid a bribe of Rs6.5 lakh to get a censor certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. CBI lodged an FIR against three people and unidentified officials of the Central Board of Film Certification on Tamil actor-producer Vishal’s corruption charges against Central Bureau of Film Certification (CBFC), Mumbai.
The CBI has stepped in to investigate the matter. An FIR has already been registered against three persons and an officer of CBFC regarding Vishal’s allegations. The houses of the accused were also searched. The CBI has entered the field and registered a case against many people. A case has been registered against Merlin Maneka, Jeeja Ramdas, Rajan M and an official of CBFC.
Apart from the houses of the accused, searches were conducted in four parts of Mumbai. Meanwhile, CBFC has already clarified that it was not the Censor Board members who demanded bribe from Vishal, but a third party. It said that a full investigation will be conducted and strict action will be taken against those responsible.
On the otherside, Mark Antony, starring Vishal and SJ Suryah, received positive reviews from both movie lovers and critics. In light of the film’s success, the producers were considering releasing a Hindi dubbed version of Mark Antony.
