Sandeep Patil, Joint CP crime on Tuesday revealed that after obtaining a warrant from a court, a search is being conducted at Kannada actress Sanjjanaa Galrani’ residence in Bengaluru by Central Crime Branch for her alleged involvement in a drug case. Recently Kannada actor Ragini Dwivedi was arrested in a drugs case, and she was produced in court, which sent her to 5-day custody. Two more accused were also arrested in connection with the case as part of the ongoing probe.
Few days ago Kannada filmmaker Indrajit Lankesh, a couple of weeks back, had appeared before the CCB and revealed information about the use of drugs in the Kannada film industry.
We have already reported that Sandalwood drug racket was busted in Karnataka on 21st August and many drug peddlers were arrested by the police. A diary was also obtained in which the names of 15 film celebrities were mentioned. This led to the arrest of Ravi, the friend of Ragini Dwivedi, after which the CCB found out the actor’s connection in the drug case.
The CCB also arrested Rahul Shetty, a real estate agent in the city, for allegedly peddling drugs to Kannada film actors. Rahul Shetty is a very good friend of Sanjjanaa Galrani. So CCB obtained a warrant from a court, to search at Sanjjanaa Galrani’ house in Bengaluru and conducted the raids.
