Akkineni Naga Chaitanya is currently working on his next film ‘Thandel’, which has Sai Pallavi as the leading lady. The upcoming action and romantic movie is directed by Chandoo Mondeti. ‘Thandel’ marks Akkineni Naga Chaitanya’s third collaboration with Chandoo Mondeti, after the movies Premam (2016) and Savyasachi (2018). According to the latest report, a massive chase sequence is happening in Karnataka. Naga Chaitanya and the film’s main villain are taking part in this shoot chase sequence.
Fidaa and Shyam Singha Roy fame Sai Pallavi is yet to join this schedule as she has taken a break due to her sister Pooja’s engagement. The duo – Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi earlier joined forces for the hit movie ‘Love Story’ in 2021. The upcoming film Thandel is presented by mega producer Allu Aravind and produced by Bunny Vasu.
On November 22, 2023, the makers of Thandel shared Naga Chaitanya’s first look. In the poster, Naga Chaitanya was seen in a weathered boat, seemingly amidst a violent storm. He is essaying the titular character, a fisherman, in this drama.
The sources say that the upcoming film is based on true events. To prepare for the role, Chaitu and Chandoo Mondeti visited K Matchilesam village in Srikakulam last year.
