Chennai Bangalore Express Highway works are speeding up. These works are running in three phases across three states. While Bangalore-Chennai travel time is 6 hours, if the express highway is completed, it can be done in 2 hours and 15 minutes. The works are being carried out in ten packages in three phases so that these works can be done quickly. This express highway has three packages in AP, three in Karnataka and four in Tamil Nadu.
Express highway works across AP have gained speed. Chennai-Bangalore Express Highway under the Bharatmala Project Scheme. From Sriperumbudur near Chennai to Hosakota on the border of Bengaluru, a 6 track express highway is being constructed for a length of 283.5 km. The works are going on in three phases from 2021 with a total cost of Rs.16,730 crore.
The Chennai–Bangalore Expressway (NHAI NE 7) is the first in the South. The road distance from Chennai to Bangalore is 283.5 km under construction. It will be 91 km in AP, 77 km in Karnataka and 93 km in Tamil Nadu. Until now, Bangalore-Chennai travel time is 6 hours. If the express highway is completed, it will take only 2 hours and 15 minutes. The normal speed on this highway is 120 kmph..and there are 17 flyovers.
In the first phase, 37.56 per cent of the 71 km in Karnataka has already been completed. In the remaining two and three phases, ten percent dirt road works and alignment land leveling works are being carried out in 112 kilometers in Chittoor district of AP and Tamil Nadu state. These works have been divided into ten packages in three phases so that they can be done quickly. There are three packages in Karnataka, three in AP and four in Tamil Nadu.
Road works are going on for 60 kilometers from Karnataka border through Veikota, Baireddypalle and Palamaner mandals in Palamaner constituency of Chittoor district. On the other hand, the work of Chennai-Bangalore 6 track express highway is progressing rapidly in Palamaner constituency. As per the alignment, earthen road works are being done. In the second phase, ten percent works have been done in Palamaner constituency as well. It seems that the highway works will be completed and started by March 2024.
