National Award-winning actress Surekha Sikri who is best known for acting in TV show Balika Vadhu/ Chinnari Pellikuthuru, breathed her last in Mumbai on 16th July 2021. She passed away due to cardiac failure at the age of 75.
Surekha Sikri was admitted to the hospital due to Atrial fibrillation, ischemic heart disease, cerebrovascular accident. The news of Surekha Sikri ‘demise has left everyone in a state of shock. She was admitted to the hospital back in September 2020 after suffering the brain stroke. She married Hemant Rege and they have a son together, Rahul Sikri.
The actress agent Vivek Sidhwani said, “Three time national award winning actress, Surekha Sikri has passed away following a cardiac arrest earlier today morning. She had been suffering from complications arising from a second brain stroke.” She is survived by her son Rahul Sikri.
Surekha Sikri was last seen in Netflix‘s anthology ‘Ghost Stories’ (2020), in the story directed by Zoya Akhtar.
Surekha Sikri She made her debut with 1978 political drama film Kissa Kursi Ka and she is best known for plating the supporting roles in the movies ‘Tamas’, ‘Mammo’, ‘Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro’, ‘Zubeidaa’, ‘Badhaai Ho’ and daily soap ‘Balika Vadhu’.
