
A clash was reported between 2 groups in Hyderabad’s old city Charminar area during Ram Navami Shobha Yatra. The sources revealed that some Muslims attacked few Hindus after they came on bike and shouted slogans on Sri Ram Navami when the Ramadan evening prayers were being held on Thursday night in Pathar Gatti, Charminar area of Hyderabad.
The police did not receive any complaint, however a case has been filed by taking suo-moto cognisance of the clash.
Charminar SHO said, “A few people from a minority community attack the people of another faith after the latter came on a bike and did sloganeering on Ram Navami day during the Ramadan evening prayers.”
The case had been booked under the sections 341,323 read with 34 of the IPC. Several suspects are being questioned.
The violence took place after Shobha Yatra was taken out on March 30 on the occasion of Ram Navami, which was taken out by suspended Bharitya Janatha Party- BJP MLA T Raja Singh.
