Venky Kudumula who is known for helming superhit movies like Chalo and Bheeshma, has fallen prey to cyber fraud. Venky Kudumula was tricked into paying Rs 66,000 to a scammer.
According to the latest report, Cyber criminals set a trap for Venky Kudumula by naming the Bheeshma movie starring Niithin. The film will be screened at the upcoming International Film Festival. Bheeshma is expected to be nominated for the upcoming International Film Festival for Rs 66,000.
Venky Kudumula recently received a phone call from an unidentified man. He said that the movie ‘Bheeshma’ which came under your direction was awesome. It has been decided to nominate in six categories for the International Film Festival and he had to pay Rs 66,000 as processing fee for the same.
Venky Kudumula believed the person on the phone and transferred the above mentioned amount to the latter’s bank account. After few days, the scammer called Venky Kudumula once again and requested some more money as there was some error with the registration process. With this, Venky Kudumula came under suspicion, temporarily crossed over saying that the filmmaker was talking about the nomination.
Venky Kudumula immediately approached cyber cops to lodge a complaint. The police who registered the case are investigating based on the phone numbers used by the criminal.
