Kannada girl Rashmika Mandanna and Naveen Polisetty have been awarded the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Awards South this year. Natural Star Nani and U Turn fame Shraddha Srinath starrer sport based drama ‘Jersey’ won the best film this year while Sujeeth won the award for best director for his film ‘Saaho’ in which Young Rebel Star Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor played the lead roles.
Rashmika Mandanna was awarded the best actress award for her role in ‘Dear Comrade’ in which she shared the screen space with Arjun Reddy fame Vijay Deverakonda whereas Nagarjuna Akkineni won the most versatile actor award. The music director SS Thaman was awarded the best music composer award whereas the young actor Naveen Polisetty won the best actor award for his superhit movie ‘Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya’.
Dada Saheb Phalke award function will take place on 20th February 2021 at Taj Lands End in Mumbai. In the past, the actors like Anuksha Shetty, Superstar Mahesh Babu, and Keerthy Suresh have won the prestigious award.
In Kollywood, Dhanush won the Best Actor award for revenge drama Asuran. Jyothika won the Best Actress award for the film Raatchasi, Anirudh Ravichander won the award as Best Music Director. Thala Ajith won the ‘Most Versatile Actor’ award.
