Amid intense tension, the authorities demolished the Hanuman temple and dargah in Delhi this morning. The Delhi Public Works Department (PWD) has undertaken these demolitions at Bhajanpura Chowk.  The  police and CRPF personnel were deployed on a large scale to prevent any untoward incident. 

The officials who decided to widen the Shahranpura National Highway demolished the Hanuman temple and dargah that were in the way. Delhi Northeast DCP Joy N Tirkey said that the demolition program is going on peacefully. It is said that the permission of the religious committees was taken before the demolition of the Hanuman temple and the mosque. It said that both were removed in complete harmony.

PWD carried out  the demolition drive today i.e 2nd June morning at Bhajanpura Chowk as it demolished the  Hanuman Temple and a dargah in national capital.  Number of CRPF  and Police officers were deployed during the demolition of Hanuman Temple and dargah to avoid the unwarranted incident. While the demolition drive was going on,  ruling APP sought an order from the Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena to stop the antiencroachment drive in delhi.
