Story: The movie is set in the background of British rule in India. Devil (Nandamuri Kalyan Ram) comes to investigate the murder of Vijaya, the daughter of a landlord’s family. Why did Devil, the real secret agent, have to come to investigate the murder?, Who is Naishadha (Samyukta Menon) staying in the bungalow where the murder took place?, Why did Devil target her?, What is Naishadha’s relation with Netaji?, Why did that murder happen?, What is Malvika Nair’s role in this whole affair?, What is the real role of Devil (Kalyan Ram) in the end? Performance: Kalyan Ram as a secret agent has given fabulous performance in this Mind Game action drama. Also, Kalyan Ram’s effort to show freshness in his looks and action in this movie is good. Especially his performance as a secret agent is the highlight of the movie. The love scenes with Samyukta Menon and the chemistry between the hero and heroines are also impressive. Samyukta Menon also acted very well. Malavika Nair, who played another key role, also impressed with her performance. Her expressions are good and the British actors who played the villain also acted well. Along with the comedian Satya, Srikanth Iyengar, Ajay and the rest of the cast have done well in their role.
Technical: The action sequences are good. When it comes to the music, the songs are not good, the background music is only good at a few places. The cinematographer’s work is the main strength of this movie. Every frame is shot very effectively. The production values of the movie are very good. Srikanth Vissa’s story is the biggest asset of this film Devil, and his dialogues regarding patriotism and the hero’s character are clap-worthy. Though the execution in the first half is below par, things are neatly handled in the latter hour.
Analysis: In this action spy thriller Devil the action sequences and some thrilling elements are impressive. Kalyan Ram impressed with his acting and action. However, things like routine screenplay and slow moving of key scenes are the minuses of the movie. Overall, the action elements and twists in this film are good. Another major attraction of the film is the screenplay revolving around the character of Netaji.
