Tamil actor Dhanush made his film debut with Thulluvadho Ilamai in 2002, which is  directed by his father, Kasthuri Raja. Later he was seen in the hit movies Polladhavan, Yaaradi Nee Mohini,  Maryan, Anegan, Kodi, Vadachennai and Asuran. Now according to the latest update, Dhanush starrer Karnan won the best  Indian film award at the Bangalore Innovative International Film Festival. Mari Selvaraj, the helmer of Karnan received this award.

Apart from Dhanush, the film Karnan stars Yogi Babu, Lal, Natarajan Subramaniam, Rajisha Vijayan, Gouri G. Kishan and Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli in the important roles.  The movie Karnan is the second directorial venture of Mari Selvaraj’s career.  After the released, the movie has received rave reviews with most critics praising the hard-hitting narrative and realistic presentation.

The movie revolves around the life of Karnan (Dhanush), a brave youngster who fights for the rights of the people of his village.  It is all about  his struggles and the rise against casteism and police brutality in village.

Dhanush made his Bollywood debut with Aanand L Rai’s romantic drama Raanjhanaa alongside Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol, which was released in 2013. He is also a producers and  produces films through his production company, Wunderbar Films. It is known that Dhanush made his directorial debut with Pa Paandi in 2017.
