Dhootha OTT Review: Dhootha marks the OTT debut of Naga Chaitanya. The web series, written and directed by Vikram K Kumar, is currently available for streaming in multiple languages.
Story: Sagar (Naga Chaitanya) started his career as a journalist and later he becomes the chief editor of Samachar newspaper. This makes Sagar very happy, but his happiness does not last long as a series of tragedies takes place in his life. What is surprising is that some newspaper clips predict these tragedies in advance. Does Sagar have enemies in his profession? Whether Sagar will be able to solve the mystery behind those newspaper clippings? This is what the web series Dhootha is about.
Plus Points: It must be said that Vikram Kumar has propelled the story of the messenger brilliantly. In fact, it is not a common thing to take such an old story and connect it to today’s audience in an interesting way. The visuals, background score and scenes entertain us a lot along with handling the suspense well. Some crime and death scenes in the middle add more interest to what is happening. Through this, director Vikram K Kumar has given a good message to the society. Also, this is not forceful on us. There is a lot of depth in each character and each character carries forward the story interestingly till the end. The climax episode of this web series is very good as the twists are revealed one by one. Rainy background throughout the series gives a new experience to the audience.
Minus Points: The flash back episodes in this web series are not interesting. The runtime is long. The series has few cuss words which are not good for some audience.
Performance: Naga Chaitanya acted brilliantly in his first web series. Although there are two shades in his character, he has performed them well. As a person who takes care of the safety of his family very much, he is good in this role. He also acted well in emotional scenes. Parvathy Thiruvothu also acted very well in her role. Priya Bhavani Shankar, Prachi Desai, Pashupati, Ravindra Vijay, Tarun Bhaskar and others acted brilliantly in their respective roles.
Technical: The background score by Ishaan Chhabra is very good. Mikolaj Saigula’s cinematography is also super. Along with the visuals, the entire series is also very grand. The editing department needs to work more and trim some scenes here and there. The plot is simple, but Vikram K Kumar has narrated it in a gripping manner. Also there is a good message to the society.
Analysis: Dhootha web series coming in the crazy combination of Naga Chaitanya and Vikram Kumar, it will impress the audience with its mystery thrilling concept. Even though the story is old, the way the director has made the story interesting is good. Its main strengths are the actors’ performances, high technical values, impressive background score and cinematography. The runtime is long. Flashback episodes should also be written more interestingly. Overall, it can be said that Naga Chaitanya will impress the OTT audience very much through this series.
