Dil Raju– the ace producer brought the distribution rights of Puri Jagannadh’s directorial venture Mehbooba in which Puri Jagannadh’s son Akash Puri and Neha Shetty are playing the lead roles. Mehbooba has hit the theaters yesterday on 11th May and received mixed responses.
Mehbooba is bankrolled by Puri Jagannadh himself under the banner of his production house Puri Connects. This news was confirmed by Charmee Kaur – co-founder of Puri Connects, as she tweeted, “It gives us immense pride and pleasure to be associated with the successful and well reputed producer Dil Raju garu’s Venkateswara Films, for our film Mehbooba, directed by Puri Jagannadh, starring ‘Akash Puri’, a proud Puri Connects venture.” Charmee also said, “After being associated with Venkateswara Films and Dil Raju garu for blockbuster films like Idiot and Pokiri, it gives us much more pleasure and happiness to repeat our successful association for this special film Mehbooba.”
After delivering Pokiri and Temper, Puri Jagannadh delivered a series of flop movies like Loafer, ISM, Jai Simha and he pinned lot of hopes on Mehbooba but unfortunately his recent offering Mehbboba received poor response at the box office. According to the latest buzz in the film Industry, Dil Raju paid an advance of Rs 9 Cr to Puri Jaganandh for Mehbooba.
According to the traders report, Mehbboba will also turn out flop and will leave hefty loses for Dil Raju. Traders are expecting that Mehbooba will not be able to recover one fourth of Dil Raju’s investment.
