Venkatesh Daggubati starrer  Drushyam, directed by Sripriya and jointly produced by Daggubati Suresh Babu and Rajkumar Sethupathi, was released in 2014 and was superhit at the box office. The film Drushyam  is an official remake of Malayalam star Mohanlal’s blockbuster thriller, Drishyam.

This was the first Malayalam film to cross over Rs 50 Crore gross. It was remade in several Indian languages. Now according to the latest update, director Jeethu Joseph is coming up with Drishyam sequel and he has also announced that the sequel will have Mohanlal and Meena in the lead roles. Apart from them, several new characters will be introduced in the sequel.

While Jeethu Joseph and Mohanlal are currently working for upcoming an action thriller movie in which Trisha Krishnan is playing the female lead role. The movie Ram which is  produced by Abhishek Films and Passion Studios, was officially launched in last December. The makers had started the shoot and also released the film’s poster. Recently it was heard that Jeethu Joseph and Mohanlal have decided to put Ram on hold.  But the directior Jeethu Josephshared a statement on his Facebook page and dismissed rumors of Ram being shelved.

The reports are coming that Drishyam sequel will go onto the floors as soon as Kerala government allows shooting permissions.
