Victory Venkatesh is adamant to remake Tamil cult classic Asuran. The film has grossed more than 100 crores at the Tamil box office and Dhanush’s performance is liked all over. The Raw, Rustic and Intense feel of the flick has clicked well with audiences. High intense action episodes, Rock climbing episodes, Forest episodes, Tamil nativity will surely work against Venkatesh who is going to remake the film. We have seen Venky in mostly soft roles. If there is any Raw in his films it surely doesn’t match with that of the Asuran. But Venky is feeling for Asuran and immensely liking Dhanush‘s character is confident that it can be changed to suit his body language and Telugu language. He also wants to tone down the intensity. While it is one of the plus points of the flick, we cannot be sure if this is a good move to change the intensity.
Keeping that aside, directing this flick is also a high-risk job. Asuran director Vetrimaaran is known for these kinds of films. His previous films suggest that. He is known for high intense flicks that work well for masses. He also showcases Tamil nativity with the utmost perfection. In Telugu, finding the right director who can handle this flick well is the main job. Looks like, Venkatesh and Suresh Babu has already found the right combination.
Reports are that director Hanu Raghavapudi is being considered for directing this flick. Now, this surely is a shocker. While we cannot writeoff Hanu’s talent, he is not a game for high intense flicks. His previous flicks, Andala Rakshasi, Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Gadha, Lie, Padi Padi Leche Manasu are all romantic flicks with Lie mostly depend on action genre. With 3 flops in his 4 film career, he does no good to his talent. Selecting such a director for directing Asuran remake is surely a big gamble. We have to see what will happen!
