The makers of Samantha Akkineni and Sharwanand starrer 96 remake revealed the title of the film and also released the first look poster yesterday. 96 remake is titled Jaanu. The first look poster of Jannu featured only Sharwanand with camels in the desert. Akkineni fans who were eagerly waiting for the first look of Samantha from Jaanu, are disappointed. The first look and title of Jaanu were revealed through the production house Sri Venkateswara Creations’ Twitter handle. The poster features Sharwanand in a lonely desert, photographing a herd of camels.
Samantha is reprising the role of Trisha whereas Sharwanand is playing the role of Vijay Sethupathi from the original.
The Telugu remake is titled after Samantha Akkineni’s character Janaki aka Jaanu. It is known news that in August last year, the shoot of Jaanu was stalled for a few months after the young actor Sharwanand suffered an injury while filming.
Jaanu is all about the story of long-lost lovers meeting after 20 years in a school reunion and the events that follow. It is helmed by Prem and according to him, he is not making any changes to the original for the Telugu version. Govind Vasantha is handling the music department whereas Mahendran Jayaraj is handling the cinematography.
