After Shruti Haasan walked out of Sundar C’s Sangamithra, Loafer beauty Disha Patani was chosen to play the titular role in the upcoming historic-drama. According to the latest update, the makers are planning to start the shoot of this upcoming big budget war drama from this July. The shoot will take place in Hyderabad. Initially scheduled to take off in January, it was pushed ahead in light of Disha Patani’s work commitments. The sources close to the team reveal that Sangamithra will be on the lines of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali and will be released in two parts.
The ambitious project was introduced at the Cannes Film Festival last year by its then leading lady, Shruti Haasan, who eventually opted out. Set in the 8th century AD, the movie, is a tale of the trials and tribulations of Sangamithra and her journey to save her kingdom. Tamil actors Arya and Jayam Ravi will be seen in pivotal roles.
Sangamithra is reportedly being made on a budget of Rs 400 Cr. The movie will release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
On the other side, Disha Patani was recently seen in Baaghi 2 opposite Tiger Shroff, which was released on 30th March.
