Top Malayalam film actor Mohanlal was landed in trouble. He is set to be questioned by the Enforcement Directorate ED- in connection of money laundering case against self-styled antique dealer Monson Mavunkal. Janatha Garage fame actor has come under scanner of the ED after reports revealed that he had visited Monson Mavunkal’s museum in Kochi. The reports are coming that lakhs of rupees were transacted by Monson through non-banking channels without any documents. The notices stated that Mohanlal should come to the office in Kochi for investigation. ED will question Mohanlal next week in connection with a money laundering investigation.
The Malayalam actor has been asked to appear before the ED at their Kochi office next week where the officers are expected to question him in connection with the money laundering probe related to the antique dealer and fraudster Monson Mavunkal.
Last year in the month of September, the Kerala Police arrested Monson for the cheating and swindling people to the tune of Rs 10 Cr. On the otherside, Mohanlal paid a visit to Monson’s Kerala residence once, but the reason for his visit is still unknown.
Monson Mavunkal is presently under judicial custody. The ED suspects that Monson Mavunkal was using fake antiques trade as a mode for the money laundering.
