Talented actor Satyadev has recently played the lead role in the movie Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya which was a remake to Malayalam blockbuster Maheshinte Prathikaaram.
Venkatesh Maha of C/o Kancherapalem fame has directed the film and Baahubali producers Arka Media Works have funded it. The movie was released through an OTT platform and received a positive response. ETV has bought the satellite rights of the film.
Compared to remaining Entertainment channels, ETV has a different strategy. They are not after big-budget crazy films and believe in content. They will not shell out huge bucks. They have purchased Uma Maheshwara satellite rights for around Rs. 2.5 Crores which was a decent amount for both the parties.
However, with digital releases happening, local TV Channels are utilizing this opportunity and pirating them. They are telecasting in their local channels without authorized permission. ETV has reportedly sued a Hyderabad local channel for Rs. 1 Crore for telecasting this movie. It has given a warning to all the local channels after purchasing the rights a few weeks back.
