EU warns Google CEO Sundar Pichai in wake of Israel-Hamas war

There is a large amount of violent content circulating in the news about the Israel-Hamas war situation. Rumors and false stories are spreading fast. Social media platforms are the main reason for this. The violent content is too much for the troubled European Union (EU), especially in the wake of the Israel-Hamas war. This content is also affecting minors. The EU has already started an investigation into X) and has recently warned Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram.

The EU has warned Google CEO Sundar Pichai that Facebook, Instagram and other media are responsible for the spread of violent, unrealistic and graphic content. The company warned that it must comply with EU regulations regarding the dissemination of illegal and violent content on various platforms, including YouTube. Pichai pointed out that this kind of content is spreading on different platforms including YouTube. In this regard, European Union Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton has written a letter to Sundar Pichai. He reminded that according to the EU Digital Services Act, there are specific provisions depending on the severity of the content. In the letter, it was clarified that the company should be vigilant about these regulations and should work strictly in compliance. This is how the EU responded to the terror attacks by Hamas in Israel.
