The prices of Petrol and Diesel are hitting the roof at Rs 77.17 per litre and Rs 68.34 per litre in Delhi, respectively. In Mumbai, the petrol price has reached a new high. It is priced at Rs. 84.99 per litre whereas diesel is sold at Rs 72.76/litre.
The fuel price hike issue has become the hot topic of discussion on social media. Taking a dig at the government, recently Farhan Akhtar expressed his opinion on the rising fuel prices. The Bollywood star also revealed how the prices can be brought down.
Farhan Akhtar tweeted ,“84 per litre mubarak to you and your loved ones.
Actual cost I believe is ₹31, based on info i could find online (do correct me if I’m wrong, happy to learn) .. the rest are central & state taxes, cess & commissions. Just so you know that the price can be brought down.” He again wrote on the wall of Twitter, “Anyway .. my take and opinion on this #fuelhike matter is out there for you to think about, agree with or criticise. I must get on with my life now… Jai Hind.”
This didn’t go down well with Twitter as they trolled the film maker on the social media. His tweet also evoked angry reactions from the supporters of the current BJP-led government at the Centre with many posting nasty replies on Farhan’s timeline. Some comments are as follows:

On the work side, Farhan Akhtar is currently busy in his upcoming production venture Gold starring Akashy Kumar, directed by Reema Kagti, which is set against the backdrop of the Indian Independence era and revolves around India’s first victory at hockey in the Olympics.
On the other hand, Farhan Akhtar was also supposed to act in two movies as an hero in two films but the sources say that he has opted out of both of them. He is yet to announce about his next directorial venture.
Farhan Akhtar and ‘Mast Mast’ girl Raveena Tandon have commented on the steep rise in the prices of petrol and diesel at a time when big Bollywood stars such as Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher and Akshay Kumar have chosen to maintain silence.
