FIFA World Cup 2018 is won by France! Kiran Bedi lauded France’s win and congratulated the people of Puducherry for France’s victory in FIFA World Cup 2018 on Sunday, which did not go well with netizens and she is being trolled on social media sites.
France defeated Croatia and won FIFA World Cup 2018 trophy for the 2nd time. However, Puducherry Lieutenant Governor and former IPS officer Kiran Bedi congratulated the people of Puducherry for France’s victory in FIFA World Cup 2018. Kiran Bedi took to her twitter and said, Puducherrians, the erstwhile French Territory won the World Cup, which did not go well with her fans. She wrote, “We the Puducherrians (erstwhile French Territory) won the World Cup.
Congratulations Friends. What a mixed team-all French.Sports unites.” She simply congratulated but now she is being trolled on Twitter for terming Puducherry (Pondicherry), a French territory.
Few netizens even asked her to pull her tweet down. “We are Indians Madam. Your publicity stunts need to stop..” said one twitter user. Another user said, “You are happy that we were French colonial…and we idiots from Delhi dreamt of making you Chief Minister… anyways I thought u became Governor of Indian territory…but… leave it….”
But today morning Kirani Bedi gave a fitting reply to the trollers on social media sites. She wrote, Good #MorningNutrition. We in Puducherry wanted France to win d #WorldCup as d UT of Puducherry has a very memorable historical bond with #France. Thousands of Puducherrians have maintained close ties with France. France also generously supports Puducherry in several ways @ANI”.
She again wrote, “Congrats my brothers & sisters in Puducherry.
We won.
In Puducherry we can build on this spirit of celebration by promoting football in UT by organising inter village, inter town and inter city football tournaments.
It costs just ONE ball to unite,as was visible in French Team.”
We the Puducherrians (erstwhile French Territory) won the World Cup.
???? Congratulations Friends.
What a mixed team-all French.
