The 81st Golden Globe Awards ceremony took place on Sunday (January 7) night in Los Angeles. Among these awards, Oppenheimer won the award in the Best Motion Picture Drama category. Cillian Murphy, who acted in the same movie, received the Best Male Actor award. Last year, RRR received an award in the Best Original Song – Motion Picture category at the same awards.
RRR won this award in 2023, this time the song What Was I Made For from the movie Barbie won. The song was written and composed by Billie Eilish O’Connell and Phineas O’Connell. The duo won the Golden Globe Award in the Best Original Song category. Even though it was nominated for RRR Best Motion Picture Non-English category last year, it could not win the award. The Naatu Naatu song got the award. It is known that the same song later won an Oscar.
Christopher Nolan won the Golden Globe for Best Director for the first time. Apart from this, it also won Best Motion Picture Drama, Best Male Actor awards, Best Male Supporting Actor (Robert Downey Jr) and Best Original Score (Ludvig Göransson) awards. The Best Female Actor – Motion Picture award went to Lily Gladstone who acted in the movie Killers of the Flower Moon.
