With the Kollywood strike over after 45 days, it’s time for new film releases and for film shoots to begin once again.
After several meetings, a final meeting was held between The Tamil Film Producers Council, the Digital Service Providers and the Tamil Government on 17th April. Following this meeting the Tamil Film Producers Council has decided to withdraw the strike. With the strike now being withdrawn, Superstar Mahesh Babu and Kiara Advani’s Bharat Ane Nenu, directed by Srimanthudu fame Koaratala Siva, will now release in Tamil Nadu.
Recently Ram Charan and Samantha Akkineni’s Rangasthalam hit theaters in Chennai as well. But the Telugu producers Council decided to support the Tamil producers by withdrawing their film. And that’s how Sukumar’s Rangasthalam was withdrawn a week after its release. But with the strike called off, Telugu film will now enjoy a wider audience in neighboring states.
Sreedhar Pillai tweeted, “#BharatAneNenuOnApril20th The @urstrulyMahesh will release in TN now as strike has been withdrawn. Likely to release via @SPICinemas, with booking starting from today evening.”
