South Central Railway (SCR) has announced that it will run six new MMTS trains between Medchal – Lingampally and Medchal – Hyderabad. It is said that this decision has been taken to make their journey easier and safer as daily commuters, employees and students travel between these routes.
4 MMTS trains between Medchal – Lingampally and 2 MMTS trains between Medchal – Hyderabad will be run during morning and evening peak hours. In addition to these, South Central Railway has also introduced six MMTS services between Umdanagar – Secunderabad and Falaknuma – Secunderabad to improve connectivity in the twin-city region. South Central Railway has revealed that MMTS services will benefit more passengers in the twin city area with the introduction of four new services between Medchal – Lingampally section based on feedback from suburban commuters.
MMTS train has introduced connectivity between Medchal and Hyderabad stations for the first time. It explained that MMTS service timings have been revised in the new timetable on October 1, 2023 to suit the travel requirements of different passenger segments. The services are designed to overcome peak traffic at various MMTS stations with emphasis on the convenience of office commuters, South Central Railway said.
These services will strengthen the rail connectivity of the outer-sub-urban areas of the city on the South Central Railway. These trains will be beneficial for students, commuters, small traders, women, employees etc.
