Google has brought a new feature in Google Maps to reduce your petrol and diesel expenses. How does this feature work?

Apart from Hyderabad, the price of a liter of petrol in many parts of the country is more than Rs 100. A liter of diesel cost is Rs. 95. If you look at the condition of our vehicles, the mileage is low. As a result, the pocket continues to burn. Want to get out of this situation and reduce petrol costs? However, a new feature in Google Maps will help you.

The tech company has brought a fuel-efficient drive feature in Google Maps. Currently it is only available in some countries. It will be available in India soon.

Meanwhile, if you start any trip, Google Maps also suggests a fuel efficient route. This feature is working in Canada, UK and other European countries. It is remarkable that this feature works for hybrid electric vehicles as well.

This feature is available in Google Maps settings. We have to select the engine details of the car we are driving. Then, automatically, it finds the best-fuel-efficient route and tells us.

“If this feature is turned on, Google Maps will only focus on fuel efficiency. It will not consider other factors besides real-time traffic,” says Google.

It can be activated like this:

Open Google Maps.

Step 1:- Click on profile icon in Google Maps opened on your phone.

Tips to save petrol bill : Step 2:- Go to navigation settings. There you will see the root options.

Step 3:- Go through the options and click on the Fuel Efficiency route. Then click on Eco-Friendly Rooting.

Step 4:- After that select your vehicle engine. That’s it!

If you don’t specify the engine details, Google Maps will automatically pick the petrol option. Google says that it calculates the fuel efficiency using the data available to them and gives a better route. And it remains to be seen how it will give results on Indian roads.
