Following Congress MLA Imran Khedawala testing +ive for coronavirus a few hours after their meeting on Tuesday, Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani, Deputy CM Nitin Patel, Minister of State for Home Pradeepsinh Jadeja have self isolated themselves as a precautionary measure. This meeting was also attended by many other top officials of Gujarat government including principal secretary of health, Ahmedabad police commissioner and municipal commissioner. Sources said their meetings took place while maintaining social distancing norms. Now according to the latest update, Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani is currently in self-quarantine as a precautionary measure after he came in contact with a Covid-19 +ive MLA.
On Wednesday, Gujarat govt made announcement that CM Vijay Rupani would stay in self isolation. The sources say that CM Vijay is normal and he will now keep a tab on all govt operations from home through technological facilities like video conference, video-calling and tele-calling.
The sources added that no any visitor will be allowed at the CM residence for the next one week.
As more +ive Coronavirus cases are emerging from Ahmedabad’ hotspot or cluster areas, the health authorities have intensified surveillance and testing in these areas. The state government imposed a week long curfew in the area.
