Hamas govt suspends evacuation of foreigners to Egypt

It’s been about a month since the Israel-Gaza War, but the ongoing conflict between the two countries does not seem to be ending at the moment. Recently, passport holders with foreign citizenship from Gaza Strip were being sent to Egypt through Rafah border for treatment. Now Hamas has banned the evacuation of foreign citizens from the Gaza Strip. The Hamas government on Saturday banned the entry of foreign passport holders into Egypt after Israel refused to allow some injured Palestinians to visit Egyptian hospitals. This information has been given by a border officer.

“No foreign passport holder will be able to leave the Gaza Strip until the wounded evacuated from hospitals in northern Gaza are taken to Egypt through the Rafah crossing,” the official said on condition of anonymity. An Egyptian security source confirmed to AFP that no injured people or foreign passport holders arrived at Rafah’s Egyptian terminal on Saturday. He said that the evacuation was suspended after the ambulance carrying the injured towards the Egyptian terminal was bombed.

The Israeli army announced on Friday that it attacked an ambulance outside Gaza’s largest hospital, Al-Shifa. The Israeli Army had said that this hospital was being used by the Hamas terrorist cell. According to the Health Ministry in Gaza, about 15 people were killed and 60 were injured in the attack on the Israeli hospital.
