Hamas militants who carried out a lightning attack on Israel and kidnapped many people hacked the hostages’ social media accounts. They are creating panic by posting and live streaming on the Facebook accounts of the hostages. Relatives of the hostages say they are live streaming the rocket attacks. It is alleged that they are posting violent messages and using them as a platform to show their behavior to the world.

Relatives and friends of Gali Schlenzinger Idan, who lives in a kibbutz on the Gaza border, say they saw similar violent videos on her Facebook account. Idan’s family went missing after the Super Nova Festival on the 7th of this month. It was later learned that they were taken by Hamas militants. However, on the same day, a live streaming appeared on Idan’s Facebook account, said a woman living in Idan’s house. He said that normally Idan does not do live streaming.

In it,  Idan stated that only her husband and son were seen and one or two masked people were also seen wandering around their house. He said he heard Idan’s son asking where his elder sisters were. They explained that the next day they learned that Idan’s eldest daughter had been killed in their home and the rest of the family had been taken to Gaza by Hamas militants.

Meanwhile, Israeli war experts say that the militants, who are known for indiscriminate firing and rocket attacks, are now adopting a new tactic through social media. It was explained that their aim seems to be to instill fear in people by hacking the hostages’ social media accounts and posting videos and violent messages on them.
