Heavy rains, thunder and lightning are likely to occur in Telangana under the influence of low pressure trough. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that light to moderate rains are likely to occur at many places in the state in the next two days.

Going into details,  moderate rain fell on Wednesday in Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, Nalgonda, Nirmal, Rangareddy, Suryapet, Warangal, Adilabad, Hyderabad, Narayanapet, Karimnagar, Komaram Bhim Asifabad, Medchal Malkajigiri, Peddapally and Sangareddy districts. According to the Telangana State Development and Planning Society, 65.5 mm of rain was recorded in Nalgonda, 58.3 mm in Manchiriya and 50.8 mm in Kumaram Bhim.

Due to the influence of low pressure trough, heavy rains, thunder and lightning are likely to occur in the state. Due to its influence, light to moderate rains are likely to occur at many places in the next five days. Rainy conditions will prevail in the city during the next 48 hours. Gusty winds will blow at a speed of 10 to 12 km per hour and there is a possibility of light to moderate rains.

The IMD said that the low pressure formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal-North Odisha coasts is moving southwest under the influence of a surface circulation extending up to 7.6 km above sea level and is likely to move northwest over Jharkhand in the next two days.
