There was a huge fire in Vijayawada. Hundreds of vehicles were gutted in a fire at the TVS company’s two-wheeler showroom. Property worth crores of rupees was damaged.
A fire broke out in the early morning at the Casa TVS vehicle showroom in the city’s KP Nagar area. In this incident, a huge showroom was completely burnt. The vehicles in the godown along with the showroom were burnt. A huge showroom is located near Stella College on the Chennai-Kolkata National Highway. Being the central office for TVS vehicles belonging to Vijayawada as well as Krishna district, hundreds of vehicles are kept in godowns.
Firefighters say that the fire spread rapidly as the showroom was built in pre-fabricated manner. In this incident, new vehicles as well as vehicles that came for servicing were burnt. It is said that the loss is in crores. It is suspected that short circuit as well as non-observance of proper quality standards may have caused the accident. It is suspected that the accident may have happened due to the parking of a large number of electric vehicles near the godown where the petrol vehicles are kept and charging them.
Firefighters suspect that the fire may have started due to a short circuit during the night, along with keeping two types of vehicles in the same area. Police are investigating whether there are other reasons for the accident. A case has been registered on the complaint of the showroom manager and investigation is underway.
