Following a stint as an NRI accountant in Dubai,  Vijay Sethupathi started his film career working as a background actor and playing minor supporting roles for a few years before playing his first lead role in Seenu Ramasamy’ Thenmerku Paruvakaatru in 2010. In 2012, Vijay Sethupathi rose to massive popularity with critical and commercial successes in Sundarapandian, Pizza  and Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom.

He is also active in Telugu film Industry.   He has emerged as a force to reckon with because of his intense performances  in the movie. Recently during the media interaction, Vijay Sethupathi revealed that he is not a fan of the expression ‘pan-India’ star.  The talented actor  further added that he does not want people to use the term Pan-India star while referring to him.

Uppena actor Vijay Sethupathi added, “I am not comfortable with that pan-India statement. Sometimes it also gives pressure. I am just an actor and there is  no need to put a label under this. I want to act in every language film. I want to do a Bengali movie, a Gujarati movie. So if I get the chance, I will go and work there.”

On the work front, Vijay Sethupathi is currently waiting for the release of Farzi, created by Raj and DK.
