After the suspension of regular international flights to take off from India nearly 2 years ago, the country is now likely to allow them to be operated from March 15. The officials will follow standard operating processes that are effective at Indian airports for foreign arrivals and departures. But, an announcement is yet to be made by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

The information to resume the regular international flights has been known from the Civil Aviation Ministry following consultation with the Health Ministry with the downfall in Covid cases. The necessary safety measures were already in effect from February 14, which have to be implemented by the passengers.

The regular international flights had been banned since March 2020, ascribed to Corona Virus severity. But, special passenger flights have been running between India and around 40 countries since July 2020 under air bubble arrangements.

On February 14, the health ministry passed safety guidelines for international arrivals, and advised home quarantine for a week, to undergo RT-PCR test on the 8th day. Now, the countries listed in the ‘at risk’ division have been detached.
