Another Indian American has stepped into the ring of the US presidential election to be held next year. Nikki Haley (51) and Vivek Ramaswamy (37) are already in the ring while Harshavardhan Singh, an Indian-American engineer, has recently joined. He has registered his candidature with the Federal Election Commission.
It is interesting that these three are entering the ring from the Republican Party. On the other hand, former President Donald Trump has also announced so far that he is going to contest the next presidential election. That means that there are four people from the Republic Party. The Republican National Convention will decide who will enter the ring as a candidate even though there are so many candidates in the party.
Harshavardhan Singh shared a 3 minute video message on Twitter, and proclaimed himself a “lifelong Republican” and a staunch “America First” conservative. He referred to himself as only pureblood candidate, apparently alluding to his stance on the COVID vaccinations.
