Indian Railways has taken a crucial decision. It intends to make the transport facility available to the passengers at the lowest possible cost. The superiors decided to run special trains for the laborers and the poor. These trains have 22 to 26 coaches. And it is named as Janata Express. The trains will run exclusively for workers.
These trains will start by the end of the financial year 2024. There are general and sleeper coaches. These fares are even lower than regular trains. It runs between Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal, Punjab, Assam, Gujarat and Delhi. A large number of workers, artisans and other people come from these states and go back home.
According to reports, these are going to be run in cities where migrant workers travel in large numbers. This is expected to prevent them from facing any trouble. Officials said that there is a difference between the trains that run during festivals and rush hours and they will run throughout the year. It has also been decided to provide food and water at very low cost to those traveling in general bogies. For this, Janata Khana stalls are being set up. The prices of these will be Rs.20 and Rs.50.
