India’s squad selection for upcoming 3 England Test gets adjourned

On the strength of sturdy player Ravindra Jadeja’s fitness status, the most anticipated selection meeting to elect the India squad for the final 3 Tests against England has been shelved. Actually, the meeting had to take place on Thursday, it was then delayed to Friday and now, it is rescheduled to Saturday. This is due to Jasprit Bumrah’s workload management and KL Rahul’s fitness status.

Post meeting the medical team of BCCI, the team management and the selection committee together have taken a common opinion about allowing Jasprit Bumrah to take part in the third Test and on the other hand, the NCA has declared that KL Rahul was fit to play the match. While trying to take a single in the second innings of the first Test in Hyderabad, Jadeja hurt his cripple. Soon after Ben Stokes knocked the stumps down to run him out, Jadeja’s hands reached his hamstring. While trying to get complete fitness back, Jadeja has been at the NCA.

Prior to the squad announcement, the selectors are willing to wait for Jadeja’s final fitness report, ruminating over the significance that Jadeja brings to the table as a batter as well as a left-arm bowler. If it is essential, the selectors might allow Jadeja into the squad subject to fitness clearance, as there is only 5 days time for the third Test. However, it is clear that Jadeja would be fit to participate in the Test by 15th February.

In addition to Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul, Mohammed Siraj is another most appropriate player. He did not take part in the second Test, instead, Mukesh Kumar occupied his place, but Mukesh has failed to take up the possibility.
