YSR biopic Yatra is being directed by Mahi V Raghav of Anando Brahma fame and is being bankrolled by Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devireddy under the banner of 70mm Entertainments.
Earlier it was heard that Anasuya Bharadwaj will be seen playing a politician from the Kurnool district who played a key role during YSR’s regime in AP but sources say that she is playing journalist.
Anasuya Bharadwaj was last seen in Sukumar’s directorial venture Rangasthalam starring Ram Charan and Samnatha Akkineni and now she is coming up with YSR biopic. During the media interaction, director Mahi Raghav has said that the popular actors are roped in to play even smaller roles to ensure that the film gets a good star value.
Apart from actress Anasuya Bharadwaj and Mammootty, Yatra will also star a lot of other top actors which includes names like Suhasini Mani Ratnam and Rao Ramesh. The sources say that Suhasini Maniratnam will be seen playing the role of Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy and Rao Ramesh will be seen essaying K.V.P.Ramachandra Rao who was a very close associate of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Jagapathi Babu as Y. S. Raja Reddy and Sudheer Babu as Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.
