James Movie Review: James starring late actor Puneeth Rajkumar, Priya Anand, Srikanth, Anu Prabhakar and others has hit the theaters today on 17th March. Let’s see the story of James.
Story: Santosh Kumar ( Puneeth Rajkumar), a guy who runs a private security agency called J Wings. He is called to protect Vijay Gayakwad (Srikanth) a drug lord. The interval block reveals an interesting backstory, and the rest of the film is about who Santosh Kumar is and what motivates him to do what he does.
- Puneeth Rajkumar
- Production values
- Heavy action episodes
Performance: Puneeth Rajkumar justifies his role. Shivarajkumar’s voice has surprisingly fit Puneeth Rajkumar perfectly. Puneeth’ elder brothers Shivarajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar are playing the cameos in the movie. Priya Anand looks good on the screen and she justifies her role but the love interest is not written interestingly so she barely registers her presence. Srikanth is excellent and sharp-looking too in the role of a bad guy. Rest of the cast perform accordingly.
Technical: The fight sequences in the first half are marvelous and this credit goes to not only Chethan D’souza’s stunts, but the way Deepu S Kumar edits them adds so much energy. Swamy J Gowda’s camera work for the aerial shots works well. The dialogues, slow motions, BGM and cinematography work make Puneeth Rajkumar a larger than life and invincible figure in the movie. Editing by Deepu S Kumar is just ok. Coming to the work of director, Chethan Kumar, he presents Appu in his Power-packed Star avatar.
Analysis: James is an action entertainer and it does justice to Puneeth Rajkumar action-hero image.
